Former UFC fighter Mark Hunt has been bailed after being charged with a domestic violence offence.

Mr Hunt, 52, was released on bail on Wednesday after spending one night in custody on remand.

He has been charged with one count of stalk/intimidate intending to cause fear of physical harm (domestic).

He was arrested at his NSW Northern Rivers home on Tuesday and was bailed to live at an address south west of Sydney.

Mr Hunt must also not contact the complainant in the matter, according to his bail conditions.

He has not entered pleas to the charge.

Mr Hunt’s matter will next be mentioned in Ballina Local Court on April 30, along with an apprehended violence order which has been taken out by police to protect the woman.

Mr Hunt, nicknamed the “Super Samoan”, had a long career as a kickboxer and mixed martial artist.

He competed in the Pride Fighting Championships and, most notably, the UFC.

He had his last UFC fight in 2018 and finished his mixed martial arts career with a 13-14-1 record.

He also had a no-contest against former world heavyweight champion and WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar at UFC200.

Mr Hunt lost the bout but the match via a unanimous decision but was declared a no-contest after Lesnar failed a drug test for banned substances.

Mr Hunt also had boxing matches against former NRL stars Paul Gallen and Sonny Bill Williams in 2020 and 2022 respectively.
