Tehran has said the US broke the ceasefire after it bombed Iranian territory near the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, local time.

The air strikes came as hopes were being raised that some kind of deal might be coming to fruition between the US and Iran.

“Without a doubt, the Islamic Republic of Iran will not leave any evil unanswered and will not hesitate to defend the Iranian nation,” the Iranian regime said in a statement which added the bombings were a “gross violation” of the truce.

Donald Trump received a medical and dental check-up on Tuesday, US time. Presidents getting a health once over is nothing new or different. But some eyebrow raising has occurred due to this being Mr Trump’s third such medical in just 13 months.

An election in Texas on Tuesday, local time, will be closely watched as it will decide who will be the Republican candidate for a Senate seat in the Midterm elections in November.

The US President has backed TexasAttorney-Generall Ken Paxton which could give him a huge boost with MAGA loyalist voters. But Republicans are worried that if the controversial Mr Paxton prevails over long time senator John Cornyn that will increase the likelihood of the Democrats snatching the senate seat.
