A teenager accused of murdering Universal co-founder Greg Josephson during a house party will face committal proceedings in June.

Brisbane businessman Greg Josephson, 58, was found dead inside his Clayfield home last year as a house party raged on around him.

When police arrived to the home on the night of June 26, about 30 teenagers were present, including the 15-year-old boy alleged to have killed Mr Josephson.

The boy and Mr Josephson were known to each other.

Police alleged an altercation broke out between the pair before Mr Josephson died.

The teenager called triple-0 and was arrested nearby the Clayfield mansion.

He has since been charged with murder.

His case was briefly mentioned on Tuesday in Brisbane Children’s Court where he was represented by solicitor Kris Jahnke.

Mr Jahnke advised that while the matter had been delayed for some time to facilitate a psychiatric assessment, it was now ready to proceed to the higher courts.

“(The assessment) is close to completion but it need not delay these proceedings any further,” he told the court.

Mr Jahnke requested a full hand-up committal be scheduled to allow the matter to progress to trial.

The case was adjourned to June 18 before the Brisbane Children’s Court for committal, with the boy to appear via video link.

Mr Josephson co-founded clothing chain Universal Store alongside his brother in 1999.

Investors then purchased the business for a reported $100m while Mr Josephson built an extensive property and retail portfolio.
