During her pregnancy, Tori Kelly had realized she would need some help in order to design a nursery for her baby boy.
For those unaware, Tori and husband André Murillo, who tied the knot in 2018, welcomed their first child, son Zayden Michael Murillo, on November 11, 2025.
The mother of one gave her precious time to PEOPLE magazine and opened up about setting up a room for her son Zayden.
She told the outlet, “When I was thinking of the nursery, which I thought about kind of late to be honest, it was one of those things. I was on tour during the whole entire pregnancy. So there was a point I was like, ‘Shoot, I need help with this.’”
Tori then contacted Crate & Kids, with whom she eventually designed the perfect space for her son, now 4-month-old.
“I knew from the beginning I wanted a neutral color palette for two reasons. One, I think I’m just naturally drawn to more neutral tones, and I just think because it goes with everything and it’s timeless,” the 33-year-old American singer-songwriter shared.
Notably, going with neutral tones “felt like the right move” because Tori and her husband André did not know the gender of their baby.
Also, the one thing about the Unbreakable Smile songstress was sure of was the fact that she wanted Zayden’s room “very light and airy.”
“It was cool to be able to give the design team just that much, and then they ran with it,” Tori Kelly noted.
