The Roosters rip the Titans defence open now with Naufahu Whyte popping an offload for Reece Robson, who bursts through half a gap, weaves to the left and offloads again. Titans winger Phillip Sami gets a hand to the ball but is only able to knock on, and the Roosters get a new set from a scrum in the middle of the field, 10 metres out from the Gold Coast line.

But once again, the Titans’ goal line defence is excellent. The star-studded Roosters backline goes right, then left, but the visitors have them well covered and they get the ball back when Jayden Campbell traps a Daly Cherry-Evans grubber with his feet and dives on the ball.

It’s early days but impressive stuff so far from a new-look Titans side that wasn’t really expected to be too competitive in this game.
