Selections based on a heavy track

Race 1

4. Monotone had two starts at the end of last year and was down the track in each of them at Canterbury although far from disgraced. He’s had two trials leading into this return and won the latest of them at Warwick Farm. He looks to have come back in good order and is set to run well fresh. 1. Farset has had five starts and finished second in four, including the latest two since resuming at Newcastle and Wyong. A bold showing is expected. 6. Simply Unique ran fourth on debut at Canterbury last month when not beaten far and looks to have the talent to give this a shake. 7. Glamour Magic disappointed at Newcastle at her second start but can improve after being placed on debut at Wyong.
How to play it: Monotone to win.

Race 2

1. Alnair was resuming from a spell when second at Newcastle and that followed two barrier trials. She looks talented and this is within her reach. 3. Obsidian Dream ran well when a last start second at Canberra and looms as the main danger. 6. Successful Impact has had three trials and two recently leading into this debut and is set to run well. 4. Olivia Mia wasn’t too far away on debut here in March and has since had a solid trial.
How to play it: Alnair to win.

Race 3

9. Pearl Of Dubai is lightly raced with four starts but has finished second in three of them. Drawn the inside gate and gets her chance to break through. 7. Weekend Market ran second at Wyong when resuming and was then beaten less than a length when fourth at the same track when last produced. Should run well. 8. Yattazou hit the line well for a second at Canterbury two starts ago before finishing last at Warwick Farm. 4. Sand Dancer is on debut after three trials and bears close watching.
How to play it: Pearl Of Dubai to win.

Race 4

7. Satono Jasmine resumed from a spell after two trials with a solid third at Wyong and looks to have the talent to give this a shake. 3. Aurora Effect has failed to fire in her latest two starts but can improve. 1. Classic Two ran well when placed two starts ago before a close-up fifth at Wyong. 5. Hellfighter has finished second in two of six starts and can be placed again.
How to play it: Satono Jasmine each way.

Race 5

1. Above The Law had a string of placings before debuting for a new stable and breaking his maiden with a last start win at Illawarra Grange when fighting on strongly. Now he’s won, he can go on with the job. 2. Call Me Mojo won well when resuming from a long spell at Canberra before failing at Illawarra Grange when last produced. 3. Clear Blue Day won well at Kembla Grange at his second start and deserves thought. 5. Flying Grey hit the line well to win when resuming at Wyong and shouldn’t be taken lightly.
How to play it: Above The Law to win.

Race 6

3. Diacon had three starts at the end of last year at Gosford for a fourth, a win and a second. She’s had two trials to be readied for this return and is poised to sprint well fresh. 1. Matima was a winner at this track on debut and resumed with a fifth of five at Rosehill in February. 2. She Swings is a consistent mare that is fresh and warrants respect. 5. Miss Farnan has performed well in both starts.
How to play it: Diacon to win.

Race 7

2. Stay Tuned has had two starts back from a spell and held on well to the line when a last start third on the Kensington track at Randwick. He’s drawn to get the run of the race here. 3. Aussie Nation has been racing well and won at Gosford before a close second at Tamworth last time out. 11. Grandini has been racing well enough to give this a shake. 7. Eynesbury has been racing well with a win at Kembla Grange in between two fourth placings.
How to play it: Stay Tuned each way.

Race 8

7. Call Me Sassy is yet to miss a place from six starts and has finished second in both runs back from a spell. She gave a good sight when run down at Newcastle last time. 8. Whoa Nellie won well at Illawarra Grange when resuming and shouldn’t be taken lightly. 10. The Cristal resumes from a spell and in her latest preparation finished second in both starts either side of a Goulburn maiden win. A forward showing is expected. 12. Ocean Empress is a lightly raced filly that has had three starts and finished off well to score a last start Goulburn win. This is within reach.
How to play it: Call Me Sassy to win.

Best Bets: Race 1 (4) Monotone; Race 6 (3) Diacon.
Best Value: Race 7 (2) Stay Tuned.
