A 14-year-old boy was allegedly viciously assaulted by a group of teenagers in a Geelong alleyway on Wednesday.
Disturbing footage allegedly shows the boy being dragged down a laneway off James St and repeatedly kicked, punched and slapped by five other teenagers, while a sixth keeps watch at the entrance.
At one point, a glass bottle is allegedly smashed over his head, as the teens yell taunts including “take it like a man,” “lick my foot c***,” and “get on your knees,” ordering him to kiss a shoe while slapping him in the face.
Inspector Clare Murphy said it was an “incredibly cowardly act” and “disgusting”.
She described the incident as particularly disturbing due to the age of those involved and the brutality of their actions.
Police arrested three 14-year-old boys in connection with the assault.
They will be interviewed by investigators, while officers continue to identify the other youths involved.
“We know who they are, we will get them and we will put them before a magistrate or through the appropriate justice process,” Inspector Murphy said.
The attack has reignited concerns among Geelong CBD traders about safety in the city’s heart.
One cafe owner, who was nearly stabbed last week, said he was “fed up” with the ongoing violence.
Police have confirmed that at the scene two boys and the victim were spoken to, but no one was willing to give a statement.
The investigation remains ongoing.
