Three teens have been arrested after an alleged high-speed police chase in a stolen luxury car ended with one of them being cornered and bitten by a police dog.

Victoria Police allege three teenagers broke into a property on Ashwood Drive in Melbourne’s southeast, after being dropped off in a white SUV about 1.55am on Monday.

They allegedly drove off in a stolen Audi A1, only to be spotted by police a short time later.

Police helicopter tracked the vehicle hurtling down the Monash Freeway at alleged high speeds, before stops sticks were successfully deployed near the Heatherton Rd exit.

Vision shows the Audi continuing along the Princes Highway with sparks flying from its rear until the trio flee on foot.

At one stage in the chase, two teens are seen trying to hide from officers beneath a trampoline in a suburban back garden.

As officers mount the fence, the two teens sprint through the property towards the street, where one of them is set upon by a waiting police dog.

In the footage, the dog can be seen charging at the teen and biting him on the forearm, before he falls to the ground.

Police said three boys, two aged 17 and one aged 16, were arrested following the chase.

“The 16-year-old was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being bitten by a police dog,” a police spokesman said.

“(He) remains in hospital under police guard.”

One of the 17-year-olds was charged with home invasion, theft of motor vehicle, theft and commit indictable offence while on bail.

The other was charged with home invasion, theft of motor vehicle and theft.

They were remanded and due to appear before a children’s court on Monday.

Police are investigating whether more offenders were involved in the alleged aggravated burglary.
