A teenager is being flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash on his motorcycle.

At shortly after 2pm on Saturday, emergency services were called to Lindeman Drive at Bloomsbury, in Queensland, following a crash between a motorcycle and another vehicle.

The rider of the bicycle, believed to be a male aged in his teens, is now fighting for his life as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.

A Queensland Police spokesman confirmed the motorcyclist will be flown to hospital for further treatment, having been tended to by paramedics at the scene in the immediate aftermath.

The incident happened close to one of Queensland’s main roads, between the Bruce Highway and Midge Point.

A stretch of Lindeman Drive has had to be closed to traffic to allow the air ambulance to arrive and fly the boy to hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman told Courier Mail that paramedics were at the scene working on the teenager who had come off a motorbike after crash with a car.

Firefighters are also on scene.
