Australian fighter Skye Nicolson has opened up about the “hate” between her and controversial YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul.
Nicolson, 30, defends her WBC Interim World Bantamweight Title against Mariah Turner in Melbourne on Wednesday night as she eyes a fourth successive victory since her only pro defeat back in March last year.

The Queensland-based southpaw has perennially called out her biggest rivals including Amanda Serrano and Ellie Scotney — both of whom are represented by Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
In response, MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian has taken aim at Nicolson for not fighting Scotney and her supposed struggle to sell tickets.
Now the Aussie fighter, promoted by Matchroom Boxing, has hit back at Paul, Bidarian and MVP, and called on them to work together to make the biggest fights.
Speaking to Fox Sports Australia, Nicolson said: “They (MVP) need me. They don’t want to admit it, but they need me. I’m one of the biggest names in female boxing in the world.
“And as much as they hate that, it is what it is.
“So line them up. I’ll beat them all and be cashing cheques. That’s what is happening.”
Nicolson previously accused Serrano of ducking her when the Puerto Rican fighter vacated her WBC belt instead of boxing her.
A similar situation could arise again if Nicolson wins on Wednesday — a victory that would see her become mandatory for Scotney’s bantamweight strap.
But Nicolson, who admits she “hasn’t had the nicest friendship” with Bidarian, insists she will continue to put the pressure on Paul’s promotion to finally put one of their fighters in with her.
She added: “I won’t be denied. I’m going to keep knocking on the door. Keep calling them out. And I’m going to keep on winning.
“As far as I’m aware too, Matchroom and MVP are on good terms and talking together about making big fights. So I assume that includes me.
“I feel sometimes like [MVP] wants to make the fights work with everyone but me. But we’re not going to make it personal. And if they want to use Matchroom’s other champions like Katie Taylor, Elif Nur Turhan, and Sandy Ryan, there will have to be some give and take.
“Which could mean I fight Ellie Scotney, Tiara Brown, Amanda Serrano… even all three. That would be nice.
“So while I do think MVP are trying to keep a lot of the belts in house, I think there will be opportunities there. Because I believe I’m the best super bantamweight in the world, including Ellie Scotney. And I believe I beat most featherweights as well.”
