Maren Morris has finally revealed what persuaded her to give her seal of approval to guest star in Sheriff Country.

For those unaware, the police procedural drama television series, which released its first season in 2025, was about Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin), who “investigates criminal activity and patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.”

While conversing with PEOPLE magazine, the 36-year-old American singer-songwriter admitted that the opportunity was scary, but it helped achieve her long-time objective.

She said, “I wanted to say yes to this opportunity because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, just never had the right timing or opening to do so.”

“My whole motto in life right now is saying yes, even when it scares me,” the Grammy-winner noted.

Morris went on to confess that she felt great pressure to prove herself when she was offered the role in Sheriff Country.

She stated, “I definitely had nerves going into filming. I know they know I’m new at this, but I also wanted to come prepared and know my lines and not deviate too much. It’s incredible writing, incredible dialogue.”

Notably, what helped her calm down was the friendly environment on the set of the series.

“Luckily, everyone is so warm and inviting here. There’s no ego, there’s no tension. Everyone’s chatting between scenes and laughing, and it’s a nice break from some of the heavier scenes,” Maren Morris said.

It is pertinent to mention that Sheriff Country is scheduled to return on CBS sometime in the fall of 2026.
