Selections based on a good track.
Race 1
4. Jarbardar won a jump out at Wangaratta in February before winning a trial at Corowa last month. He’s a Written By gelding making his race debut here and is poised to make a winning impact. 5. Princely Edition debuted with a seventh at Caulfield Heath late last year and is a recent Wagga Riverside trial winner leading into this resuming run. 7. Borata’s Girl ran third at this track at her only start and should be prominent here with a repeat. 1. Avido is a Super Seth gelding on debut here after a trial placing and a bold showing would not surprise.
How to play it: Jarbardar WIN.
Race 2
8. Trigoso had one start last June when finishing fifth and she resumes here after a quiet trial. Expect a bold run fresh. 4. Chef’s Kiss is on debut after running third in a Kembla Grange trial and bears close watching. 6. Lord Limerick disappointed as favourite when last produced at Albury but is worth another chance. 9. Val The Octopus is a Denman mare making her debut here and she has had a trial in which she ran fourth here when not beaten far.
How to play it: Trigoso EACH WAY.
Race 3
5. Pure Melody was placed in four of her first five starts with her only unplaced effort a fourth behind Autumn Break. She justified a short quote to break her maiden with a last-start win at this track and she can go on with the job. 1. Ghost Walker has missed a place in his most recent three starts but is capable at best and can lift. 8. Timeless Grace is a last-start Gundagai placegetter that can be thereabouts again. 2. Straight Fire is handy at best and a return to form wouldn’t surprise.
How to play it: Pure Melody WIN.
Race 4
1. Masked Vision was heavily backed on debut at Canberra and ran a good race when finishing second. He can go one better here with the benefit of improvement. 5. Zou Force finished fourth at Goulburn on debut and shouldn’t be taken lightly. 6. Fortythreebeans is on debut and ran second in her only trial at Nowra. 8. Capital Babe is a last-start Goulburn runner-up that warrants place thought.
How to play it: Masked Vision WIN.
Race 5
1. Cosmic Lad hit the line well to score over a similar distance at Newcastle when last produced. He carries a similar weight here and only needs to replicate that effort to be hard to hold out again. 2. Belleistic Kids followed placings at Albury and Canberra with a fourth in the Gundagai Cup and warrants thought again. 4. Villasaurus was midfield in the Country Championships Final at Randwick and will find this easier despite the wide draw. 10. Southern Dancer should get a good run from the inside draw, and a forward showing would not surprise.
How to play it: Cosmic Lad EACH WAY.
Race 6
1. Ole Daze was a debut winner at Wangaratta when racing on the speed and then raced close to the speed again at Sandown when finishing second when beaten a half-length. He has the talent to give this a shake. 6. Hip Hip Ole was placed at Canberra when resuming and won two in a row at the end of her last campaign. 15. Tessarion charged home to score at Albury last time out and has had a trial to be kept up to the mark. 11. Judith’s Revenge won two in a row at this track before two recent seconds and she only needs to maintain that form to be hard to hold out.
How to play it: Ole Daze WIN.
Race 7
8. One Hard Lady is a consistent performer that was midfield at Flemington at the end of last year and then returned with a fresh run at Albury when finished second behind Sparring. She’s drawn to get a good run here and can bounce back to winning form. 7. Teylu was racing in fine form with three straight wins before finishing a last-start second at Canberra. Another prominent showing is on the cards. 11. Keikoku has a string of placings his name and comes out of the same race that Teylu contested at Canberra. 6. Love Shuck is fresh for this after a last-start second at Canberra and has finished second in a recent Goulburn trial.
How to play it: One Hard Lady WIN.
Race 8
3. Elastane Miss has a good record with a win and six placings to her name from just the eight starts. She has finished second and third in her latest two runs at this track and was placed in a Riverside trial to be kept up to the mark for this. 12. Brutal Belle won easily at Goulburn when resuming from a spell and since finished third at Canberra when beaten less than a length. 15. Group Chat improved when a last-start second at this track and can show up with a repeat. 9. Needawinna has won two of her last four starts and ran well again when a last-start second at Canberra.
How to play it: Elastane Miss EACH WAY.
Best Bets: Race 4 (1) Masked Vision.
Race 7 (8) One Hard Lady.
Best Value: Race 8 (3) Elastane Miss.
