A teenage boy has allegedly been found with violent extremist material he accessed online following a tip off to police.
Officers received information in December last year that a 15-year-old boy had allegedly accessed extremist material online.
Police raided a home on the North West Plains region in NSW, and allegedly seized a mobile phone, ballistic-style vest and several notebooks during a search on Friday.
The teen was arrested and charged with using a carriage service-possess violent extremist material and posses or use a prohibited weapon without permit.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in a Children’s Court on Saturday.
“The community should be reassured that there is no ongoing threat,” a police spokesman said.
