‘No TV show is perfect’
‘The Boys’ boss breaks silence on the ‘controversial’ finale

The Boys has a storied run, with years of critical acclaim and pop culture domination.

However, the last season, particularly, became somewhat ‘controversial’.

But the series creator Eric Kripke defended the show, calling it “No TV show is perfect.”

In an interview with Variety, he was asked about anything he would do differently.

Kripke’s response: a resounding no.

“No, we landed where we wanted it to land. Did some stories work better than others?”

He adds, “Absolutely. There’s no TV show that is perfect, and every storyline is perfect all the time.”

The Boys’ maker says he is content with how the series has ended.

“But all of those stories got us to this place. I’m happy with where it landed.”

“It’s been the best professional experience of my life. If I could do it over, I would do it again,” he notes.

Not only this, Kripke shares he has prepared the ending of The Boys from the get-go.

“Yes and no,” he first said. The plan of ending was the same since the start.

However, the creator shares, “From the very start of the series, we knew that this was Hughie’s and Butcher’s ending.”

“It’s not totally one-to-one, but I think we have a reasonably faithful ending of Butcher and Hughie that’s similar to the comic.

Though The Boys ended, the universe of the supes will continue with two spin-off series.
