Liverpool have confirmed that Mohamed Salah will leave the club at the end of the season.
The Egyptian’s shock exit was revealed on social media leaving fans stunned.
Salah, 33, signed for Liverpool in 2017 from Serie A side Roma and has gone on to become one of the club’s best-ever players.
The forward has scored an astonishing 255 goals in 435 appearances in all competitions.
However, he now only has a handful of chances to add to his tally before his time at Anfield comes to an end.
A statement read: “Mohamed Salah is to bring the curtain down on his illustrious career with Liverpool Football Club at the end of the 2025-26 season.
“The time to fully celebrate his legacy and achievements will follow later in the year when he bids farewell to Anfield.”
It has been revealed that the decision to announce the decision now is partly down to Salah himself.

The attacker’s prolific record in front of goal has seen him win the Prem golden boot on four occasions and climb to third in the Reds’ all-time scoring list.
Salah has previously been linked with an exit from the club with interest mounting from the Saudi Pro League.
The buzz around him ended with a two-year contract extension being signed in April 2025.
