Mandy Moore reveals who helps her cope when life gets crazy

Mandy Moore is opening up about why she leaned on her mother-in-law, Kathy Goldsmith, to regulate her emotions.

During a recent chat with E! News, the Princess Diaries alum shared a rare glimpse into her and her bond with her husband Taylor Goldsmith’s mom.

“I love my mother-in-law, and we’re very close,” Mandy told the outlet.

The actress, who is mom to three kids, shared that when life gets crazy, she vents out her frustrations in front of her mother-in-law.

Mandy said, “She’s very helpful with the kids and is just a huge part of our support system. So, she’s the first person I would vent to.”

This is not the first time Mandy gushed over her mother-in-law. She previously revealed in a past Instagram post that Kathy helped her and her husband when they lost their home in the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires.

“It’s been a hell of a year and my Mother-in-law, Kathy, has risen to the occasion in every way,” Mandy wrote in July 2025. “Selfishly, I’m not sure what I would have done without her in the hours, days, weeks, and months since the fire. She suffered her own immense loss and has been by our side since the very beginning, without skipping a beat.”

“If there’s any silver lining in this whole thing, she’s definitely ours. We couldn’t be luckier that she’s ours and we’re never letting her go,” she added at the time.

Mandy and Taylor tied the knot back in November 2018 and welcomed three kids: sons Gus and Ozzie and daughter Lou.
