Specialist police investigating a crash in Western Sydney that left one man dead and two toddlers in hospital will look at how seat belts were used in the lead-up to the fatal crash on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to Stuart Road, Dharruk, near Mount Druitt, around 5.20pm following reports that a Subaru had left the road and hit a tree.

One of the six passengers, a man, was partially ejected from the car, police said.

He died at the scene.

The female driver, two men and two toddlers were taken to Westmead Hospital and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

“The adults are reported to be in a serious but stable condition while the children, believed to be boys, are stable,” police said on Sunday night.

Officers were yet to speak to anyone involved.

Police are urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact CrimeStoppers.
