Katy Perry has denied allegations made by Ruby Rose, calling them “false and reckless.”

In a statement, Perry’s representative said the claims making rounds online are “categorically false” and described them as dangerous.

“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies,” Perry’s rep told Rolling Stone.

The statement also said Rose has previously made serious allegations on social media that were denied by those involved.

“Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”

Rose made the accusation Sunday night on social media, claiming the incident happened more than a decade ago at a nightclub in Melbourne, Australia. She said it took her years to speak about it publicly and did not fully speak out earlier because Perry had helped her professionally in the past.

“Katy Perry sexual[ly] assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a shit what she thinks,” Rose wrote on Threads, responding to a post about Perry poking fun at Justin Bieber’s headlining Coachella set.

She continued to share more details in subsequent posts. “[Perry] didn’t kiss me,” Rose claimed. “She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friend’s lap to avoid her and bent down,” Rose said, before further alleging that Perry took it as an opportunity to expose herself and made inappropriate physical contact with her face.

She added, “Until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.” She also said she was in her early 20s at the time and needed years to process the experience.

The Australian actress also claimed there were witnesses and said she had supporting evidence, though this has not been confirmed. She added that she may have filed a police report, but it is unclear if it relates directly to this allegation.

Authorities have not confirmed any investigation. Police in Australia said they do not comment on the identity of people involved in potential cases.

Past reports say Perry and Rose were seen together at a Melbourne nightclub in 2010, around the time the alleged incident is said to have taken place.
