Kathy Griffin has shared a major update about her health.

On Thursday, the 65-year-old comedian took to her Instagram handle to reveal that she spent the night in hospital following a routine medical procedure.

“I spent the night in hospital because I had complications from my colonoscopy,” Kathy wrote.

While the Fashion Police actress did not elaborate on why she underwent the procedure, she assured her fans that she was fine.

“I know, I know, very sexy but I am home now with the doggies where I belong,” she added.

As she shared the news, Kathy’s fans rushed to the post’s comments section to send their well wishes.

“Feel better soon!” wrote one person, while another commented, “All that matters is that you are better and home!” Keep resting.”

“Wishing you a speedy recovery,”  a third one chimed in.

“I’m glad you’re home now. Get better soon,” penned a fourth one.

As per the Mayo Clinic, a colonoscopy “is an examination of the inside of your large intestine (colon). It’s helpful for diagnosing gastrointestinal diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer. It can also help treat and prevent colon cancer.”
