Jessica Simpson took the celebration to social media on Thursday shortly after her sister Ashlee Simpson won The Masked Singer, even as some viewers question the result.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Jessica penned an emotional shoutout for Ashlee, sharing her pride over her sister’s milestone. “Being proud of you is my favourite feeling ever! I love you! Winner Winner Chicken Fried Steak Dinner!!!”

She continued in her note, “I’m so happy that the world got to hear and experience you the way I always have… into domination mode of The Masked Singer. I love to love you!”

Ashlee was revealed as the face behind Galaxy Girl during the season 14 finale, beating runner-up Phillip Phillips and other finalists including Kylie Cantrall and Normani.

However, the result sparked backlash online, with fans calling the runner ups rather more worthy of taking first place and accusing the show of being “rigged.”

“Kylie was robbed!!!!!!! This show is so rigged it’s sick!” one person wrote.

“Normani, Kylie or Philip Philips should have won smh,” said another person, while others went on to call their own personal favourites worthy of the prize.

Despite the criticism, Ashlee’s performances to Olivia Rodrigo’s Good 4 U and Pink’s Try, won praises throughout the season.

Jessica had also appeared during the finale to present a clue, which fueled speculation before the official unmasking that it could be her own sister.
