Ozzy Osbourne is gone but never forgotten, as the MTV Video Music Awards proved by honouring his legacy at the award ceremony.

The Black Sabbath rocker’s son, Jack Osbourne, too made an appearance via video message at the show on Sunday, September 7.

Jack opened up the tribute by saying, “I wish we could be there as you celebrate my dad’s amazing musical journey. It would make him incredibly happy to see these great musicians carry on his legacy and help inspire the next generation of rockers.”

The TV personality’s message was followed by a performance from Aerosmith musicians, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry who were joined by Yungblud and Nuno Bettencourt as they performed the legendary rocker’s memorable hits.Yungblud, who had formed a close relationship with Ozzy after he appeared in his music video for the song, The Funeral, began the performance with Crazy Train.

Tyler and Perry then took the stage and Yungblud joined them to end the performance and he exclaimed “Ozzy forever,” before wrapping it up.

The late musician passed away at the age of 76 back in July after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
