Infini bulks up Canadian uranium ground with savvy land grab

Under the terms of the deal, Infini’s Canadian subsidiary will pick up full ownership of the new grounds from the vendor for A$50,000 cash, A$350,000 in shares and a 2 per cent net smelter royalty on future output.

Infini Resources chief executive officer Rohan Bone said: “Portland Creek is rapidly shaping up as a potential district-scale uranium system, and securing this ground is a strategic step in leveraging Infini’s first-mover advantage. The newly secured licences sit directly along the structural corridor we have been actively drilling and carry radiometric and geological signatures that are remarkably consistent with our existing ground.”

The Portland Creek project lies within Newfoundland’s Precambrian Long-Range complex – a mining-friendly region near the historic Daniel’s Harbour zinc mine, which churned out millions of tonnes of polymetallic ore over two decades from the 1970’s.

Infini’s recent work has confirmed a six-kilometre zone of anomalous uranium and radon in sediments, soils and airborne surveys, linked to a prominent fault scarp at Portland Creek. The company says the geological setting is well-suited to uranium enrichment along fault zones.

With assays from phase two drilling due in the coming weeks and airborne geophysical work wrapping up, Infini plans to merge datasets to pinpoint new targets ahead of a stepped-up drilling assault in 2026.

Uranium prices have held firm in 2025, lately trading around mid-US$80 (A$120) per pound, as supply stays constrained and key producers cap output while new reactors gear up worldwide.

In this landscape of tightening supply and rising long-term needs, Infini’s timely expansion at Portland Creek sharpens its stance in secure North American jurisdictions.

For uranium explorers, locking down contiguous ground early is often key and Infini’s hard work could pay dividends as it tightens its grip on Portland Creek and chases what may become Canada’s next high-grade uranium district.
