Opposition Leader Angus Taylor has been asked about an ally of his, South Australian MP Tony Pasin, suggesting that the Liberal Party consider a non-compete clause with One Nation as part of a wider attempt by the conservative side of politics to return to power sooner.

At a press conference in an Italian restaurant in Mandurah, south of Perth, Taylor said there were no plans to do that.

“We’re going to focus on winning every seat we can from Labor,” he said.

Taylor became increasingly agitated as the questions continued to focus on Hanson’s party, trying to steer the focus back to Labor and its perceived failings on immigration.

“There will be no carve of seats, what we will be doing is carving up the Labor Party. Australians are angry, they’ve had a gutful of a lying prime minister …”

Asked if the Liberal Party could raise as much money as One Nation had in the past two days, Taylor said: “I’m hearing all these stories about this fundraising, and they’re all questions for others, not for me.”
