Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are reportedly facing a disagreement over their daughter’s future.

The former couple have long been praised for maintaining co-parenting relationship, but now insiders claim tensions are rising over their daughter, Apple Martin.

Apple, who is nearing graduation from Vanderbilt University, has already begun carving out a public profile. However, the Coldplay frontman is said to be wary of the pressure that come with fame.

Insider told Closer Magazine, “Chris is extremely protective and worries about what the entertainment industry does to people. But the chances she will listen to him are less than zero; she’s very headstrong and knows what she wants.”

They went on to add, “He’d prefer she finish college and take things slowly rather than rushing into a Hollywood career but his words are falling on deaf ears. Gwyneth is very excited to help Apple make her dreams come true, Chris is going to have to get on board at some stage.”

As per the sources, Apple is ready to all the way in, but Chris believes the pressure that comes with stardom can “take people down a very bad path, he’s seen it up close many times over and he can’t help but want to protect his little girl from that risk.”

“Chris has no doubt that Apple has the talent to rise to the top, he’s just terrified about what that will actually mean and pretty frustrated that Gwyneth won’t see things from his perspective,” an insider noted.

Moreover, the source revealed, “Chris argues that times are different to when they were at the height of their fame. He thinks it’s all ten times more toxic and invasive and only getting worse. And once you’re in that spotlight there’s no real way to step back from it, that’s what keeps him up at night.”

“But whenever Chris starts talking about the pitfalls of fame and how tough it’s going to be, Gwyneth just tells him he’s letting fear get the best of him. She always points out that Apple has watched them navigate fame her entire life, she’s seen the glamorous side and the difficult side up close, and in Gwyneth’s mind that gives her a huge advantage because she isn’t going into this blind,” they added.

It is pertinent to mention that while Chris Martin is all concerned about Apple, Gwyneth Paltrow “doesn’t have same worries.”

The actress and businesswoman believes Apple “is actually very grounded despite the life she’s grown up in, which is why she feels so confident about supporting her ambitions.”

“She also recognizes that they really have no choice, Apple’s made up her mind about what she wants and she’s an adult, if they try to stand in her way, they’ll only risk alienating her,” they added.
