If you’re planning to hit the road this Easter, it might be worth checking where to fill up.

A live map tracking fuel outages across Australia shows hundreds of petrol stations are already running short on key fuel types, with some of the country’s busiest travel routes impacted.

Petrolpulse.com.au data shows at least 325 fuel stations across Australia are experiencing outages on Thursday.

The real-time outage map reveals more than 60 per cent of all outages are in New South Wales, with 260 outage entries across 184 stations, heavily clustered around Western Sydney and regional corridors.

Queensland follows with 79 outages, while Victoria, 31, South Australia, 25, ACT, 15, Western Australia, 9, and Tasmania, 8.

Most petrol stations aren’t completely out of fuel, but have run out of at least one fuel type.

Approximately 77 per cent of impacted stations have just one fuel type available and 23 per cent have multiple outages.

Nearly 46 per cent of all outages are diesel-related, with premium diesel, 101 outages, and diesel, 95 outages.

The Federal Government has been working to secure additional supply by replacing delayed or cancelled cargo, and working with industry to prioritise distribution into the domestic market.

Some of the most impacted sites are Ampol locations, including Ampol Foodary, accounted for a significant share of outages, alongside networks like Reddy Express and 7-Eleven.

For Australians travelling this Easter, the advice is simple, check availability before you leave, don’t assume every stop with have the fuel type you require, fill up earlier than planned, especially on regional routes.
