South Australian police have seized a staggering $320,000 worth of Lego after what authorities allege was a major theft operation spanning multiple retail outlets.

Officers raided a home in Dudley Park, north-west of the Adelaide CBD, about 5pm on Tuesday following an ongoing investigation.

Inside, investigators uncovered a vast quantity of Lego and alleged to have been stolen from retail stores across the metropolitan area.

Photos released by police show hundreds of Lego boxes stacked on wooden pallets, with some sets identified as popular franchises including Sonic the Hedgehog, Star Wars, Marvel, and Pokemon.

Transporting the haul required significant resources, including 15 pallets and two mounted police horse floats, police said.

A 34-year-old woman and 42-year-old man living at the property were arrested and charged with theft.

Both were granted bail and are due to appear at the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on May 12.
