The Dragons have been booed off the field after slumping to an 0-5 start for the first time in the club’s history as calls for Shane Flanagan to get sacked began immediately following Saturday’s 32-0 loss to the Cowboys.

The players were booed and jeered throughout as the mistakes piled up, with Flanagan seen marching around the coach’s box, spitting profanities, as St George lost its ninth straight match.

The Red V bombed several try-scoring opportunities in another woeful display from Flanagan’s side.

Shane Flanagan fumes amid Dragons misery

St George failed to score and even conceded when they had an extra man early in the second half and they were booed off the field by the spectators who stayed until the end.

“Listen to the boos. They are filthy,” Jake Duke said in Kayo commentary.

And the NRL world could barely believe just how bad the Dragons are in 2026.

“I think this may be a prime contender for the worst kicking performance by a team in the history of the game. There are no words,” NRL commentator Andrew Voss said on X.

“Half the crowd left 15 minutes ago, the rest stayed to boo the sh** out of their team and the coach. The Dragons have ZERO upside right now. They are easily the worst team in the premiership,” Curtis Woodward wrote.

“No way Shane Flanagan can blast his players again in this press conference. He needs to man up and cop some blame for how terrible they are. Fans have had enough.”

While many called for Flanagan to get the sack.

“I’d love to hear anyone argue Shane Flanagan deserves to be coach at this point

Pretty sure that’s a club record 9 losses in a row. Get him the f*** outta here,” another Dragons fan added.

“Shane Flanagan Might Be The Next Coach Facing The Axe!” Leith Ross commented.

Flanagan’s stars simply did not turn up on Saturday.

Clint Gutherson and Valentine Holmes put in shockers, while halfback Daniel Atkinson continues to struggle to make the team his own.

Post-match Flanagan said there was no sugar coating that performance and he understands why his side was booed.

“It’s not good enough,” Flanagan said.

“We looked like we didn’t know each other at certain stages… lack of cohesion. Just very disappointing. I am just very very very disappointed.

“I haven’t got the answers for you right now but I will find them and find them quickly.”
