Donald Trump has reportedly sacked US Attorney-General Pam Bondi – just weeks after he pushed out another senior women in his cabinet.
The US present was reportedly angry at Ms Bondi’s handling of the Epstein files as well as, how he sees it, a lack of commitment to prosecute his political enemies.
It is likely Ms Bondi will be replaced by a man just as Kirstie Noem was weeks ago when she was sacked from the position of Homeland Security Secretary.
Ms Bondi’s interim replacement is reported to be her second in command and former personal lawyer to Mr Trump Todd Blanche.
A new lawyer general will have to be authorised by the US Senate.
Like Ms Noem, Ms Bondi had been a reliable attack dog on Mr Trump’s behalf. But that wasn’t, seemingly, enough for the US president.
More to come ….
