The Toronto Blue Jays are dealing with another injury concern after Daulton Varsho exited Friday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks with left knee discomfort.
According to a team announcement, Varsho left the game in the third inning after recording one at-bat and playing two innings in centre field. He was replaced defensively by Myles Straw.
Manager John Schneider told reporters after the game that the issue stems from Varsho’s quad down to his knee.
He added that the outfielder is considered day to day and will not undergo imaging.
Varsho had been in strong form heading into the game. The 29-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent seasons, including shoulder and hamstring issues in 2025, but still managed to hit 20 home runs in 71 appearances.
His latest setback adds to the Blue Jays’ injury concerns, with key players including George Springer, Addison Barger and Alejandro Kirk already sidelined.
Toronto will now be hoping Varsho’s issue is minor as the team continues to manage its impact early in the season.
