Catherine Zeta-Jones reflects on Drew Barrymore’s heartening gesture

Catherine Zeta-Jones has recently opened up about Drew Barrymore’s goodness on her talk show.

The Wednesday star praised the Never Been Kissed actress for her kindness and positivity during an appearance in the season six premiere of The Drew Barrymore Show on September 8.

Catherine revealed that she kept an “uplifting voicemail” Drew sent her years ago and she always listened to it whenever she felt down and upset.

“I’ve never shared this with anybody and just going back to your younger days, I think you were unaware of what goodness and kindness you exuded,” said the 55-year-old.

Sharing a leaf from the past, Catherine said she has a story about Drew’s kind gesture.

“You were producing a lot. You called me up about a project but you left me the most glorious, uplifting, positive, woman-to-woman message that I kept for years and would play when I felt a little gloomy,” admitted the Mask of Zorro actress.

However, Drew was stunned by the revelation as Catherine continued, “You empowered me with a feeling of, it wasn’t just, ‘Oh baby, oh baby, oh baby.’”

“It was just… a beautiful, like you were talking to me as a friend and it was very long,” mentioned the No Reservations star.

Catherine told Drew that this may be a “wonderful transition into this next chapter, but never, ever falter on what you’ve given to others in your past”.

Meanwhile, the Blended actress had no idea that her message would have a profound impact effect on late mother.

Catherine told Drew, “It was a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful message, and it was just unexpectedly glorious from woman to woman because, as you know, women can be a little mean to each other.”

“And we’re out to break all those stereotypes… We have to protect each other,” added the talk show host,.
