Britney Spears’ biopic unable to overcome key obstacles in production

Britney Spears’ life story continues to face challenges in being told, and the production process reportedly remains at a standstill.

The 43-year-old former pop icon has been trying to work through the biopic with the production team, but they appear ready to call the project off due to crucial reasons.

The Toxic hitmaker wants to take full control over the movie, which has become a point of contention between her and the producers, as reported earlier.

Since Universal bought the rights to Spears’ memoir, The Woman in Me, they have been invested in working on the movie project, but an insider revealed that they are ready to make a tough decision.

“They’re trying to figure that out, but Universal has shown they’re willing to walk away from a problematic development process, which is exactly what they did with Madonna’s proposed biopic,” an insider told RadarOnline.

Previously sharing his views, the director Jon M Chu said, “We just want to do her right and tell the story that she deserves.”

Chu continued, “And I think that starts from the very beginning of saying, listen, we’re going to jump out of this plane together and we’re going to have to build a parachute. And we have to be willing to actually hit the ground. And once you get over that, we could fail, but we have to do this – this is our moment.”

Despite the insider’s information, there has been no official announcement regarding the cancellation of the project from either Spears or the production company.
