Dramatic footage has captured the moment firefighters were confronted with a raging fire after a van burst into flames on a Bondi street.
The burning van shut down O’Brien St in Bondi Beach about 4pm on Tuesday.
The fire fully engulfed the van which was parked close to large trees.
Local community pages warned commuters and pedestrians to avoid the area as firefighters worked to get the exploding flames under control.
Passers-by gathered to watch as firefighters extinguished the flames with officers at the scene reportedly urging the crowd to give the crews space to work.
A NSW Police spokesman said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
