Barry Keoghan says it’s ok to be unconventional dad in blunt interview
Barry Keoghan gets candid about fatherhood

Barry Keoghan is the father of Brando, his only child, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Alyson Sandro.

But in his latest interview, he voiced frustration at a “perfect dad” image common in socities.

The Batman actor shares his way of expressing love might be different, but it is what it is.

‘‘It’s sort of nice to play not the traditional dad and [challenge] the dads that people tend to have a version of, which doesn’t always exist – dads and moms,” Keoghan tells THR.

However, over time, the actor shares that he learned to express parental love in his own way.

In his view, this is better for replicating traditional family parenting, which most people expect.

“But it’s OK to be you as a dad, and I’ve learned that by being me,” the Saltburn star adds.

“This is how I do it, and this is how I show love,” the actor continues.

Outstripping polished Hollywood dad figures, Keoghan says he has embraced his flawed father role.

“And it mightn’t be the way that we’ve all seen, or we’re all used to, but this is how I show emotion, and I’m telling the truth. So I wanted to lean toward that,” he concludes.
