Warwick Farm trainer Bjorn Baker has high hopes his winning run of form can continue at Hawkesbury on Thursday when he sends around two leading contenders.

Baker prepared a winning double at Doomben last Saturday when Midnight Dynamite scored under James McDonald and War Eternal won with Zac Purton in the saddle.

He had another winner with Sponars at Queanbeyan on Sunday and looks set to maintain the momentum at Hawkesbury.

Godolphin galloper Monotone will line up in the Turfmate International 3YO Maiden Handicap (1300m) for Baker with Tommy Berry taking the ride.

“He’s a talented type by Lonhro that had two good trials for me before he ran sixth and eighth in two Canterbury starts for me late last year,” said Baker.

“He had a spell after those runs and has since come back with two trials and won the latest of them at Warwick Farm and he did it in good style.

“He’s on the way up and should run well at Hawkesbury.”

Baker’s other Hawkesbury winner will also be ridden by Berry, with Diacon contesting the Floratine Products Group Class 1 Handicap (1100m).

“She’s a nice filly by Tassort that has had three starts and performed well on each of them,” Baker said.

“She ran fourth at Gosford on debut and then won well at the same track before a second, again at Gosford, before being spelled.

“She’s had two trials to get ready for her return to racing and she looks ready to perform well.”

Peter Snowden has a couple of leading contenders going around at Hawkesbury with Wee Winn, to be ridden by Andrew Adkins, lining up against Monotone.

Wee Winn resumed from a spell with a third placing at Kembla Grange when Adkins was in the saddle and he can get into the money again with a repeat of that.

Snowden’s other runner of the day at Hawkesbury will be Pearl Of Dubai in the Advanced Seed Blackstone Super Maiden Plate (1100m).

Adkins will also partner Pearl Of Dubai, which has finished second in three of her four starts including a latest runner-up effort as favourite at Wyong.
