An Australian man has died after he was found unconscious on a hotel balcony in Bali.

The 30-year-old man’s girlfriend found him at their Seminyak accommodation about 4.15am on Wednesday and alerted hotel staff.

Denpasar Police spokesman Gede ADI Saputra Jaya told media the victim was still breathing when he was found by emergency services at the hotel.

“He was unconscious when taken to Siloam hospital,” a spokesman said.

The man died in hospital hours later.

A police spokesman told media the pair had been at a bar and returned to the hotel about 1.30am, when they had an argument.

The man went to sleep on the balcony before he was found by his girlfriend.

“Officers are still conducting a thorough investigation into the cause of death,” police said.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade have been contacted for comment.
