Controversial Aussie ‘looksmaxxer’ Androgenic has been booted from a flight home after undergoing cosmetic surgery in Thailand, with airline staff heard telling him he looks “drowsy” and “very ill”.
The Brisbane-based influencer shared footage on Wednesday showing a heated argument with what appear to be two Jetstar flight attendants, who informed him he was being removed after staff grew concerned when he fell asleep in his seat prior to take-off and couldn’t be roused.
The 25-year-old, known as Ronan Androgenic, had been documenting his trip to the south-east Asian country for an unspecified cosmetic procedure, which left his face heavily swollen and bandaged.
“I’m getting kicked off my flight right now apparently because I didn’t put my medication in my carry-on bag,” he said in the clip shared to TikTok, which has been viewed more than 830,000 times.
The video then showed the dispute leading up to his ousting from the flight.
“Sir, your [communication] is not good and you’re not communicating with us clearly,” a male attendant is heard saying.
“How is it not good? Tell me how it’s not good,” Androgenic says.
“Sir, you just [had] surgery five days ago,” the attendant says.
“Yeah, and it’s not an invasive surgery,” he insists. “I was cleared to literally fly within two days and it’s been five, you understand? Like, it’s already in the record. Someone already took a photo in this system showing that I’m allowed to fly, right? And I have antibiotics, I have to take two a day, I take one before the flight, one after. There’s absolutely no problem.”
The attendant tells him that when they first tried to speak to him “you didn’t say this one to me … and once we’ve gone to offload you, you say this one to us”.
“Tell me what the issue is right now, because I see no issue,” the influencer says.
The attendant replies “the problem is your surgery right now … [your] condition”.
Androgenic insists “the doctor confirmed”.
“Doctor confirmed, but it’s not decide with us,” the attendant says. “It’s difference.”
“What do you mean? I’m just (trying) to get on the flight,” Androgenic says. “Do you think I want to come on the flight amped up?”
The female crew member chimes in that he was “too tired, and when I speak something, and I ask you, your reply was very drowsy”.
An increasingly agitated Androgenic tells them, “I’m trying to sleep”.
“I’m not drowsy anymore, am I? Because I’m not trying to f**king sleep anymore,” he says.
“Sir, you didn’t say this one before,” the male attendant says. “When you sit over there… we tried to communicate you…”
Androgenic hits back, “I’m trying to go to sleep on the flight, is that not f**king normal?”
The Jetstar crew warn him that his behaviour is becoming disruptive.
“Because you guys are doing this for no reason,” he says. “What the hell was the point of this?”
“First, we tried to help you, and you didn’t respond with us,” the male attendant says.
“I did,” Androgenic claims.
“Noo, no! We have five people,” the man tells him.
Androgenic insists again that he provided documentation at the airport medically clearing him to fly.
“Yeah, the doctor confirmed but we can check you condition as well,” the female attendant says.
“OK, what’s wrong with it?” he asks.
“Your surgery,” the male attendant says. “Your swelling right now, your eyes. You are very like, not condition to go. Your face is totally, like, very ill.”
The female staffer agrees and warns, “We cannot delay anymore”.
“Bro, what? What the f**k do you expect me to do? I need to go home,” Androgenic says.
The crew tells him a replacement flight will be arranged by ground staff.
“What the f**k? Is this actually a f**king joke?” he explodes.
“This attitude cannot be acceptable,” the female crew member says.
“You’re telling me I just wanted to get on my f**king flight when I’m already cleared, and I just want to sleep and go home, and you’re f**king with me like this,” Androgenic rants.
“Sir, don’t speak to our crew like that, OK, sir?” she says. “That’s enough.”
“Sir, we tried to help you at first,” the male staffer adds.
“No you didn’t,” Androgenic says. “This is f**king pathetic. You guys actually could have just f**king let me lie in my f**king chair and go to sleep.”
“Sir, you have to go out,” the female attendant tells him.
Androgenic later shared a video from a hotel room telling fans “it looks like my Thailand arc is going to last a little bit longer”.
“The little dogs didn’t allow me to board my own f**king flight,” he said. “So now I’m going to have to look into maybe building rafts.”
Androgenic has been contacted for comment.
Jetstar told news.com.au its crew are trained to assess whether customers appear fit to fly at the time of boarding, and if crew are not confident that a customer is well enough to fly, they may refuse to let them board the aircraft.
The airline maintains that in this instance, crew acted appropriately and respectfully based on what they observed.
Jetstar said it does not accept abusive behaviour or language toward our crew under any circumstances.
Androgenic, who calls himself Australia’s “number one ranked looksmaxxer”, has nearly 380,000 followers on TikTok as well as around 92,000 fans on Instagram and 21,000 on the streaming platform Kick.
Looksmaxxing is the internet’s latest obsession, taking hold of young boys and men who are determined to attain near-impossible levels of beauty.
Born out of online forums, the term refers to the pursuit of maximising one’s physical attractiveness through gym routines, skincare, grooming, and increasingly, extreme bodily interventions.
The latest incident comes after Androgenic, whose real name is not known, was sensationally arrested and taken into custody while livestreaming in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.
Footage showed officers approaching the TikToker and informing him he was being arrested for public nuisance, over an incident that occurred on February 27.
Police reportedly questioned the 25-year-old over a video that went viral on social media last month, which appeared to show him pushing an older woman to the ground in front of a Hungry Jacks restaurant.
In the footage, Androgenic is seen racing into a fight between two women before he appears to push one to the ground, before running away.
Moments later, the streamer was punched in the face and fell to the ground, where he was continuously kicked in the head by another man.
Queensland Police confirmed the arrest had been made in relation to an incident in April.
“A 25-year-old St Lucia man was subsequently issued with an infringement notice for public nuisance,” a statement said.
“He was also served with a banning notice from the safe night precinct of Fortitude Valley and Brisbane City for one month.”
He was later released.
The incident came just weeks after Androgenic was criticised for seemingly offering popular US influencer Clavicular an Adderall while he was suffering an apparent overdose.
In a livestream in April, the pair were partying with friends at a Miami nightclub when Clavicular appeared to slump over and become unresponsive.
During the stream, Androgenic was heard asking Clavicular if he wanted to take an Adderall, a prescription amphetamine, which he did not take.
In a post on X, Androgenic defended his actions, saying the situation had escalated within seconds.
“I hadn’t seen him in this state before, and he went from speaking to being fairly unresponsive in mere seconds,” he wrote.
“Within a minute, we all realised the situation, turned the stream off, picked him up and rushed him to the hospital.
“You guys should realise that stimulants can attenuate respiratory depression in some cases, but I didn’t push for it once I realised he was unresponsive.”
