Two men have been arrested and charged after allegedly breaking into a construction site and stealing 1000 litres of fuel in southern NSW.
Police allege officers at Queanbeyan Police Station were told a building site in the nearby town of Tralee had been broken into around 7.30pm on April 11.
It is alleged a water tank containing roughly $3500 of petrol was stolen from the site.
After obtaining CCTV, police “commenced inquiries” into the incident.
Around 8am on Thursday, police attached to a number of different departments raided a home in Longden Way in Queanbeyan, where they allegedly located a small amount of crystal methamphetamine.
A man, 27, was arrested and charged with larceny, entering enclosed land without a lawful excuse, destroying or damaging property, taking part in the supply of prohibited drugs and driving a car while disqualified, possessing a prohibited drug and breaching his bail.
Around 4pm on the same day, another raid took place at a home on Mount Fairy Rd in Mount Fairy, where police found a ute and an allegedly stolen water tank filled with 1000 litres of diesel.
“A second man, aged 37, was found allegedly hiding inside the home. He was arrested and taken to Queanbeyan Police Station,” NSW Police said.
He was charged with trespassing and larceny.
Both men are due to appear in Bail Division Court on Friday.
More to come.
