Melbourne have snatched the lead from Collingwood – aided by a brilliant goal from Kysaiah Pickett in the final 30 seconds of the game – to win in front of 88,000 screaming fans at the MCG on Monday.

Melbourne were leading by two points, when Pickett found himself with the ball. He could have run out the clock but chose to go for goal and was rewarded.

It was a painful ending for Collingwood who led the majority of the match, but were unable to cement a solid lead. As the sun set over the MCG, the back and forth contest continued, with eight total lead changes with the largest margin for the match being 16 points.

But Melbourne seemed to have all the answers – aided by superb performances from Bayley Fritsch and Kozzy Pickett who finished with 28 disposals, seven score involvements, five clearances and three goals.

It was a sensational game of footy, however the status of Brody Mihocek hovers over everything. The Demon was taken to hospital after a nasty tackle, which saw him knocked almost unconscious.

Collingwood and Melbourne players checked on Mihocek who was carried off the ground via a medical stretcher.

Final Score: Melbourne won 12.11 (83) to Collingwood 11.9 (75)
