Scott Pendlebury is set for a huge windfall after the AFL granted a request for all proceeds from his record-breaking merchandise launch to be kept by the Collingwood star.

Ordinarily Pendlebury would have received 65 per cent of the share, but Collingwood made a special plea to the league.

They want the 38-year-old to receive every penny in return for the commitment he has given the club down the years.

Pendlebury will make history when he plays his record-breaking 433rd match against the West Coast Eagles at the MCG next week.

A special guernsey has been released ahead of the game with each Collingwood player set to year the ‘433’ number on their chests.

Pendlebury could even wear up to 12 jumpers and each will have a gold number 10 on the back – and fans are now able to buy the commemorative jumper.

And that’s not all, with Tom Morris reporting special edition Pendlebury boots, wine, and watches will be available.

He claims Pendlebury is set to rake in more than six figures.

Fans are shocked by the move with many believing Collingwood and Pendlebury have taken the milestone occasion too far.

“This has got a real stench to it. Pathetic grandstanding,” wrote one fan. “Break the record and enjoy the occasion, then move on.”

Another added: “This is damaging his profile badly how embarrassing.”

A third wrote: “This is getting ridiculous. I’ve never seen such a self centred focus on a milestone game.”

“This is a circus. I’m already sick of the whole thing,” commented another.

Pendlebury had already drawn the ire of fans by opting not to play against the Sydney Swans on Friday, despite coach Craig McRae explaining it was to help preserve his fitness.

The gold No10 also rankled fans, many of whom are fed up with the noise surrounding the situation.
