Donald Trump has, predictably, slammed US host Stephen Colbert hours after his long running talk show finally came to an end.
Colbert has consistently called out Mr Trump who has consistently railed against Colbert in return.
But, unexpectedly, Colbert didn’t mention the US President once during his farewell episode which featured Paul McCartney, a host of stars and the hosts of Colbert’s rival shows.
“You could take any person off of the street and they would be better than this total jerk,” said Mr Trump art around 2am, DC time.
On Friday, US time, the US President will swear in Kevin Warsh as the new chair of the US’ central bank.
It’s expected Mr Warsh will be more amenable to Mr Trump’s insistence interest rates be cut – something the current chair Jerome Powell was love to do citing the Federal Reserve’s independence.
The White House has done a complete about face on US troops in Europe.
Mr Trump posted on social media that 5000 US troops would be sent to Poland, which borders Russia. Weeks ago, the US said it would pull 4000 troops from the NATO ally.
The US has still said it is removing 5000 troops from Germany. It’s unclear if these will now head to Poland or go back to the US.
While the United Arab Empires has said there is now only a “50-50 chance” the peace task between the US and Iran will succeed.
