But he said Tehran should make a “good deal, a wise deal” while it can.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has hit back at reports the US is considering ways to punish the UK and other NATO allies for not supporting Donald Trump’s campaign in Iran.

According to the Pentagon report, Spain, which has been the most vocal European nation against the war in Iran, could be suspended from the defence alliance. Although it’s not clear how the US would do that.

While the US could drop its support for ongoing British control of the Falkland Islands which Argentina – a country in Mr Trump’s favour – also claims.

A Number 10 spokesman bluntly said on Friday, local time, that sovereignty of the Falkland Islands “rests with the UK”.
