White was a guest and had front row seats as security personnel intervened to protect Trump and the dinner attendees.

But the UFC icon was far from frightened despite the terrifying scenes, and actually savoured every moment of the scare.

“It started getting noisy, tables getting flipped over, guys running in with guns,” White said.

“They were screaming ‘Get down!’ I didn’t get down. It was f***ing awesome.

“I literally took every minute of it in and it was a pretty crazy, unique experience.

“We were sitting right in front of the table where the President was.

“Nobody got tackled, but guys came in looking for shooters. They came towards our table. I thought the shooter was over by us or something.”

White was spotted casually remaining in his seat while influential figures were escorted to safety.

He was also seen laughing and talking to others still in the room just moments after the ordeal.

Footage shows wounded person surrounded by Secret Service at White House dinner

A suspect named Cole Tomas Allen, 31, is facing firearms and assault charges after being arrested following the shooting.

He was allegedly armed with a shotgun, handgun and multiple knives.

A Secret Service offer was shot during the attack but his life was saved by a bullet proof vest.

Trump, his wife Melania and a host of senior US government officials were in attendance at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton when the shooting unfolded about 8.30pm on Saturday, local time (10:30am Sunday AEST).

The incident serves as a wakeup call to the UFC and White House officials ahead of the

historic UFC card on June 14 to celebrate the U.S. 250th anniversary.

White announced the UFC will break their traditional pre-fight protocol during the event by playing the national anthem.

Unlike at major boxing shows, The Star-Spangled Banner hasn’t been played ahead of UFC main events or at any time during cards for several years.

But that will change at Freedom 250 with White confirming Zac Brown will perform the song.
