Travis Kelce intends to run it back with the Chiefs for a 14th NFL season.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday the three-time Super Bowl champ is expected to return to Kansas City, “a message that’s been delivered to teams who will want him.”

The deal, according to The Athletic, would be for one year and worth up to $US15 million ($A21.8m).

Kelce, who will turn 37 during the 2026 season, has spent his entire career with the Chiefs, who drafted the tight end 63rd overall in 2013.

The Chiefs fell far short of Super Bowl expectations last year, finishing at 6-11 and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

Kelce was visibly emotional on the sideline during the Chiefs’ 20-13 loss to the Broncos on Christmas Day at Arrowhead Stadium, a contest many anticipated to be his final home game.

In an interview on Prime Video before the game, Kelce opened up to retired tight end Tony Gonzalez about feeling frustrated this season, as well as retirement.

“I feel like I can’t even look my guy, coach Andy Reid, in his eyes right now, just because I feel like I disappointed or I just let him down in some way, somehow throughout the year,” Kelce said.

Kelce appeared in all 17 games for the Chiefs last season, in which he tallied 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns.

He last eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in 2022 with 1,338 yards.

It’s been an exciting off-season for Kelce, who is also preparing for his upcoming nuptials to pop superstar Taylor Swift, also 36.

The couple first got together in 2023 before announcing their engagement in August.

Page Six reported in December that Kelce and Swift will marry on June 13 at the luxurious Ocean House resort in Rhode Island.
