Selections based on a good track.

Race 1

7. Surpasser is a lightly raced gelding with only three starts to his name. He was behind the placings in his first two runs before finishing a close-up second at Port Macquarie last time out when racing on the speed and fighting on strongly. He’s drawn to advantage in this event and can take plenty of running down. 8. Wormington has only had two starts and hasn’t been beaten far in either of them, despite being midfield in each of them. He gets his chance to show up against this opposition. 9. Brainiac has only been placed in one of 10 starts but hasn’t been beaten too far in a few of her recent runs. She could run a forward race without surprising. 1. Belgrano resumed from a spell with a second at Queanbeyan and followed that up with a last-start fifth at Kembla Grange.
How to play it: Surpasser to win.

Race 2

5. Rhetoric has only had two starts and has finished fourth in both at Canterbury. He led them up last time out and travelled well only to weaken in the straight. This looks more suitable and he should enjoy a good run from the inside gate. 6. Waverley Road debuted with a fifth at Randwick in December 2024 and went out for a break after that. He has been readied for this return to racing with two recent trial wins and a bold fresh run is on the cards. 1. Maidoff has been placed in two of three starts, and they were either side of a spell, the latest being at Warwick Farm. 8. Fabres is resuming and his only placing was at this track. He’s had two trials in preparation.
How to play it: Rhetoric to win.

Race 3

1. Sphere is a talented filly that debuted with a sixth behind Tempted at Warwick Farm in December 2024. She since resumed from a long spell with a third at Canterbury and backed that up with a last-start second at Warwick Farm when hitting the line well. She gets her chance to break through here. 2. Lipstick ran in the same race as Sphere on debut when running third. She’s had four starts since then including two since resuming from a spell in city grade. 4. Nafanua is resuming from a spell after two trial wins and bears close watching. 6. Rave About It wasn’t beaten far on debut at Warwick Farm and can show up.
How to play it: Sphere to win.

Race 4

5. Providence took on the Vase and Victoria Derby last campaign and ran second and fifth to Observer in those races. He resumes here and is primed to sprint well after two trials. 2. Gus The Great resumed with a third at Warwick Farm and looks talented. 12. Overshadow ran third on the Kensington track at her second race start. 15. So D’Oro debuted with a sixth at Newcastle and has had two trials leading into this resuming run.
How to play it: Providence to win.
