In the sports world, everyone is talking about the Minnesota Timberwolves defeat at the hand of San Antonio Spurs in 139-103.
With this historic triumph, Spurs have advanced to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2017 with a blowout Game 6 win over the Timberwolves, led by Castle’s 32 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and five threes on efficient shooting.
But what made the match more interesting was the stylish entry of Spurs at the Target Center and their strategy to win the game.
Ahead of their Game 6 against the Timberwolves, Spur star De’Aaron Fox laid out a precise blueprint for the team players including continuing to be physical and limit the Timberwolves’ second-chance points.
Hence, on Friday night during the game, the Spurs did not just follow the blueprint, in fact, they weaponized it, thereby outcompeting Minnesota to clinch the series 4-2.
Fox emphasized on neutralizing Minnesota’s size and keeping them off the offensive glass, stating “You know what everyone is gonna do, we know each other’s plays, we know the tendencies of everybody.”
He further added, “At that point it’s you gotta try to win some of these games, if you can cause some turnovers or push out their catches a little more, it’s just little nuances of the game.”
The Spurs will now face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the finals. The series will begin Monday in OKC’s Paycom Center at 8:30 p.m. ET.
