RACE 1

6. Cool Summer Nights is a progressive filly primed to break through fourth-up in her first full prep, despite drawing the outside barrier. Has placed in all three runs this prep at the provincials and in the country, twice beaten narrowly, and crucially blinkers go on. Over the odds for a smart stable, especially considering she was scratched from Warwick Farm on Wednesday to run here. 3. Kharif made good late ground on debut in a handy country Super Maiden when well backed from $3.90 into $2.50. Up sharply in trip, but he’s in good hands, and by The Autumn Sun. Watch the betting on 2. Yes He Reigns, a son of Everest winner Yes Yes Yes on debut for the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable behind three soft trials. 4. Master Of War deep into his first campaign is clear best of the rest.

RACE 2

4. Time To Dance is a three-year-old by Savabeel in the Richard Litt stable on debut behind two progressive metropolitan trials, the latest cruising home from well back under a good hold. Drawn to get the right run, and important gear additions have been made. 6. Mrs Maree is a rival Warwick Farm mare who dropped out after leading in tougher company at Rosehill first-up since early last spring. Natural improver over a bit more ground with gear changes in play, but still under the odds from a wide draw. 5. Moana Gold wasn’t far away here when resuming, and will jump from a soft trailing gate. Gap to the rest headed by 10. Golden Princess, a provincial-based filly on debut off two trials, and at much bigger odds 11. Gong Girl resuming for a second prep in blinkers .

RACE 3

1. Bruce I Am is a powerfully built Star Turn three-year-old from the Joe Pride yard, and rates clear on top. Fitted with two rock solid trials, the latest sitting wide before brushing through the line under a nice hold on soft ground. Drawn to get a cosy run, and can kick off his career with a bang. 8. Denise’s Gal is drawn the inside behind a handy trial win for her first outing in 14 weeks. 3. Defiance is a lightly raced and second-up improver, while 7. Weekend Market can run into the minor money fresh off a tidy trial.

RACE 4

8. Mimi’s is an emerging filly by Extreme Choice in the Waterhouse-Bott yard who can pay back punters after missing a place as a well backed favourite first-up at Hawkesbury. That was her first run in nine months, and she did plenty of work wider out for most of the journey. Still found the line OK, and fitter now on firmer footing, she can strike at good odds. 1. Champere is a talented filly and natural threat, resuming off two progressive trials for the Hawkes stable, with gear changes. Watch for any money around 4. Ask Di, a filly by Snitzel in a strong metropolitan stable, returning for her first run since flopping on debut at Hawkesbury last October after being backed from $5.50 into $3.80, but found to have suffered from cardiac arrhythmia. 7. Ho Aloha second-up heads the rest.

RACE 5

7. Ballpark, a three-year-old son of Zoustar in the Chris Waller stable, represents the best value, resuming as a gelding. Scored a dominant front-running win at only his second start late last year, fitted with two easy trials, and drawn to get the right run on or near the speed. 2. Johnny is banging on the door for a leading metro yard, close up in consecutive and tougher BM 64’s before only fading late at Hawkesbury three weeks back. 1. Lightning Glory returned with a narrow win in a CL1 at Newcastle. Drawn to lead, and a 3kg claimer booked to ride offsets the weight. 4. He’s Cool, reloading off a strong second-up CL1 win at this course, and 9. Maidoff, a last-start winner in provincial maiden company, can both add value into trifecta and first fours.

RACE 6

4. Miss Capitale is a progressive city mare well-placed off a five-week break to claim a third win, despite still being in her first full prep. Finished best to win a CL2 on the Beaumont track before dropping out in deeper company at Canterbury. Then led until the last stride in a stronger lineup at Newcastle. Is unbeaten from two starts fresh, and she’s always been a reliable weight carrier. 3. Kiss Goodnight is primed after just missing in her last two across deeper provincial BM 64 fields. Versatile enough to overcome a testing draw, but does rise sharply in weight. 2. Fine Wine scrambled home first-up in a weaker race before doing it tough from the draw at Gosford. Can hit back returning to fillies and mares company, but still under the mark. 5. My Proclama is over the odds fourth-up, while 8. Shoutaboutit is fit and trained on the track, and can fill the minor money.

RACE 7

7. Charlina is a consistent filly with good tactical speed who can overcome the outside barrier, and salute in an open race. Went down in the last stride in a handy CL1 at Newcastle as a well-backed favourite 16 days ago. This is tougher, but she gets right down in the weights after the jockey’s claim. 6. Bondasong is trained on the course, and a sharp improver third-up from a softer draw, with an important gear change. 5. Stratafy is a tough mare who has run home well to beat all but the winner in her last two, but has to slot in from a tricky draw. 4. Ride The River has tactical speed and drawn low, but likely would need it softer, while stablemate 2. Harry The Thief is lightly raced and unbeaten, but drawn wide stepping up from weak CL1 country level. 8. Singing Star, trained locally and with two placings in the country from her last four, is a minor money shot.
How to play it: Charlina to win

RACE 8

9. Grandini is a big finishing country mare, well over the odds in another wide open affair. Won a weak race two starts ago before stiff not to win at her latest, flashing home late at Gosford in similar company. Drawn to get cover back in the pack. 7. California Grass has tackled tougher races, including a Group 3 at Rosehill where she was beaten out of sight. Rebounded with a strong closing effort in a deeper metro race, and tucked away here from the inside draw, only needs clear air from the 500m. 3. Dolce Dior has mixed her form in deeper fields since sweeping home to win a weaker race at Canberra 10 weeks ago. 8. Luna Bay will also relish a big class drop fourth-up after finishing well down the track at Group 3 level behind Profoundly, who then beat all but the winner in the Group 1 Oaks. 4. Aussie Nation dug in hard from well back to claim a similar race fourth-up, but will likely face a sterner test from off speed here drawn wide. 1. Humanity, a home tracker dropping in grade via a soft trial, and 10. Rita’s Pearl who is hard fit deep into the prep and drawn low, can both figure in the minor money.
How to play it: Grandini each way

BEST BETS: R2 4. TIME TO DANCE
R3 1. BRUCE I AM
