Marvel drops double surprise for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ season two
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ season two releases back-to-back episodes

Daredevil: Born Again packed a surprise for fans. Initially, the series dropped a single episode of season one.

But now the show pulled a shocker, dropping back-to-back, a rare move by Marvel, which usually releases an episode per week.

Yet Parade reports that there is a partly practical reason behind the decision. The sudden two-episode drop will pave the way for The Punisher: One Last Kill, starring Jon Bernthal as the brutal Frank Castle, which will arrive on May 12.

Both episodes clocked in almost an hour and are titled Shoot the Moon and The Scales & the Sword.

Given this one-time move, the rest of the episodes will revert to the original weekly release. Season two is already sitting at a whopping 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, beating season one’s stunning score.

Meanwhile, fans speculated whether The Punisher would make an entry in season two.

But Vincent D’Onofrio, who portrays Kingpin, recently dropped bad news for the all-gun-blazing anti-hero.

“If Jon wasn’t busy making his own hour-long Punisher film and hanging with that insect, we would have wanted him to join us in season 2 for sure,” he said in a tweet.

The season two logline read, “Mayor Wilson Fisk crushes New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil.”

Daredevil: Born Again, season two, is streaming on Disney+.
