Lady Gaga fans are utterly disappointed.
The Bloody Marry hitmaker, as per reports, was forced to cancel her Mayhem Ball concert in Miami just minutes before it was set to start, citing an “extremely strained” voice.
The pop icon took to Instagram Stories to share sad-bitter news with her fans, describing that her doctor and vocal coach had advised her not to perform due to the risk of long-term damage to her vocal cords.
Gaga wrote, “During rehearsal last night and my vocal warmup tonight, my voice was extremely strained and both my doctor and vocal coach have advised me not to go on because of the risk it poses.”
She emphasised that she had done everything possible to avoid letting her audience down, saying, “I want to be hardcore and just push through this for you, but I would be more afraid of the long-term implications on my voice.”
Fans were understandably disappointed, with some taking to social media to express their frustration.
One user wrote, “Lady Gaga, what do you mean you cancelled Miami night 3 ONE MINUTE BEFORE IT STARTED???”
Another fan, added, “Flew to Miami for Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball only for it to be postponed tonight. The tour only took place in a few cities, so I can only imagine how many people are in the same boat. Somebody dropped the ball big time.”
The singer’s team is working to reschedule the Miami date as quickly as possible. Her next scheduled performance is set for Saturday, September 6, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and she is also slated to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
As for workfront, Gaga has been busy this summer, appearing in new episodes of Netflix’s hit show Wednesday and releasing a new single, The Dead Dance accompanied by a Tim Burton-directed music video.
