Kanye West gets huge snub ahead of explosive concert in London after decade
London mayor distances city from Kanye West concert after decade

Kanye West’s last concert in London was in 2015. Now, over a decade later, he is set to return to the city.

Though a legion of his fans was over the moon at the announcement, some members of the public are voicing their anger over the decision.

London mayor Sadiq Khan is one of them.

Days after the 2026 Wireless Festival announcement, a spokesperson for the UK’s figure says, “We are clear that the past comments and actions of this artist are offensive and wrong and are simply not reflective of London’s values.”

“This was a decision taken by the festival organisers and not one that City Hall is involved in,” the official tells Variety.

The Jewish Leadership Council, similarly, slammed the organisers’ decision to invite West. “West has repeatedly used his platform to spread antisemitism and pro-Nazi messaging.”

“Any venue or festival should reconsider before providing their platform to Kanye West to spread his antisemitism,” the group says in a statement to the Guardian.

West previously issued an apology in an ad in The Wall Street Journal for his past anti-Semitic outbursts.

“This is because these remorseful feelings were so heavy on my heart and weighing on my spirit. I owe a huge apology once again for everything that I said that hurt the Jewish and Black communities in particular.”

West is currently dominating the music scene with his latest album, Bully.
