Dwayne Johnson deeply moved by outpouring of love at Venice Film Festival

Dwayne Johnson is “deeply moved” by the outpouring of love from audience at the Venice Film Festival.

The wrestler-turned-actor turned to Instagram and posted a clip from the festival where he got emotional after The Smashing Machine received a 15-minute standing ovation at the festival.

In the clip, The Rock could be hugging director Benny Safdie and Emily Blunt as the clapping continued.

After this surreal experience, the Red Notice actor wrote a heartfelt note for the honour he received at the festival.

“I feel like dreams are something we can contextualize,” began the 53-year-old in the caption.

Dwayne remarked, “We imagine things and scenarios in our minds.”

“This was far beyond my imagination and something my heart had a hard time comprehending. We were all deeply moved to our core,” explained the Jungle Cruise actor.

In the end, Dwayne thanked the festival on behalf of his cast and director.

Fans lauded The Rock over his performance in the Benny-helmed movie, with one said, “Excited for this new page in the Book of the Rock.”

“Looking forward to seeing it & you in a different kind of role,” another stated.

Meanwhile, Dwayne previously spoke to Variety and revealed that he’s at a point in his acting career where he “want to push” himself “in ways” that he’s not pushed him in the past.

“I want to make movies that matter, that explore a humanity and explore struggle [and] pain,” he further said.
